JUN 11 2019
Barcelona, Spain 11th June 2019.
On June 6th,Synergy, a Hutchison Ports group logistics operator, presented its services in an event that took place in Miranda de Ebro. The event was also attended by the Mayoress of the town, Mrs. Doña Aitana Hernando.
The presentation covered Synergy's trajectory, from its beginnings at the Noain Intermodal Terminal (TIN) in 2012 as Hutchison Logistics, to the consolidation of its new corporate image, as launched in 2018.
During this period, Synergy’s activity has increased from a weekly frequency between Barcelona and Noain, to the current 6- weekly frequencies. In addition to this, the recent success of the railway connection between Barcelona and Miranda de Ebro was consolidated when, a few weeks ago, the operator announced a third weekly frequency.
Furthermore, the appointment of Pablo García as the new General Director of Synergy was announced at the event.
In addition to the mere rail services to Madrid, Miranda de Ebro and Zaragoza, Synergy offers storage, emptying and filling of containers and haulage services, amongst others.
Jorge Moreno, Head of Commercial of Hutchison Ports BEST, highlighted that "this new service represents an important commitment by Hutchison to the development of the logistics chain in the Miranda area, and to its connectivity through the port of Barcelona with the main ports of the world."
From Miranda de Ebro, Synergy covers the areas of Burgos, La Rioja, Vizcaya, Vitoria and Santander, important industrialized zones with large import and export companies that have endorsed Synergy’s venture by bringing their goods in and out through the Port of Barcelona towards the Far East and the Middle East. This alternative has represented a reduction in transit time between 7 and 20 days depending on the destination for exporting companies and up to 14 days for importing companies, providing added value to the entire supply chain.
