Barcelona, Spain 11 June 2019.
Synergy, logistics operator of the Hutchison Ports group, presented its logistics services last Thursday, June 6th, in an event that took place in Miranda de Ebro. During the event, the event was attended by Her Excellency Doña Aitana Hernando, mayoress of the town.
During the presentation, the trajectory of Synergy was discussed. From its beginnings at the Noain Intermodal Terminal in 2012 as Hutchison Logistics, to the consolidation of the new corporate image, launched in 2018.
During this period, the activity of Synergy has increased from 1 weekly frequency between Barcelona and Noain to 6 frequencies today. To this fact, we must add the recent success of the rail connection between Barcelona and Miranda de Ebro, which was consolidated when, a few weeks ago, the operator announced the third frequency.
Also during the event, the appointment of Pablo Garcia as the new CEO of Synergy was announced.
In addition to purely rail services to Madrid, Miranda de Ebro and Zaragoza, Synergy offers storage, container emptying and filling and haulage services, among others.
Jorge Moreno, Head of Commercial at Hutchison Ports BEST, highlighted that "this new service represents a commitment by the Hutchison group to the development of the logistics chain in the Miranda area, and its connection through the port of Barcelona with the main ports of the world".
From Miranda de Ebro, Synergy covers the area of Burgos, La Rioja, Vizcaya, Vitoria and Santander, important industrialised areas with large importing and exporting companies that have joined Synergy's commitment to send their goods through the Port of Barcelona to the Far East and the Middle East. This commitment has meant a reduction in transit time of between 7 and 20 days depending on the destination for exporting companies and up to 14 days for importing companies, bringing added value to the entire supply chain.
